Medications Take pain medication and antibiotics as prescribed. Apply antibiotic ointment gently along the incision line. Use lubricating eye drops if recommended. Activity Restrictions Keep your head elevated, especially while sleeping, for 3 to 5 days. Avoid exercise, bending, lifting, or strenuous work for at least 2 weeks. Do not rub or press on your eyes. Avoid swimming, sauna, or dusty environments until cleared. Incision and Eye Care Keep incision sites clean and dry. You may gently cleanse with sterile saline if advised. Stitches are usually removed in 5 to 7 days. Do’s Wear sunglasses outdoors to protect your eyes. Use cold compresses for the first 2 days, then switch to warm compresses after 72 hours.
